Watches with special dials

In the beginning, the clock was a tool with just one hand. Much later, people decided to give the clock, or rather the dial, more hands: two large hands for the hour and minute, and a second hand. Gradually, the dial became something unique and special. Over time, pure functionality gave way to unique designs. Elegant and eye-catching dials, even those made of innovative materials, continue to conquer the watch market today. Many people think, "What could possibly be special about a dial? Numbers, three hands, that's it. You know what time it is." For us, it isn't, not at all. A watch has a face, a calling card, and that is often its dial. An identity as unique and individual as the wearer.

A watch dial is an art form in itself

From highly elegant and exclusive to sporty, everything is possible. Preciously set with sparkling gemstones or sportily clear. There are no restrictions on colors either, leaving no wish unfulfilled. In most cases, the hands are always matched to the dial. They either contrast for better legibility or they adapt color and style to the design. If you prefer something bright and colorful, no problem. There's something for every taste and every occasion. Dials that resemble paintings are also part of the wide selection. From the simple Bauhaus style to elaborately designed models, there are hardly any limits to the imagination. Various suppliers advertise personalized dials and the like. Dials in various colors and shades, or you can see the movement behind them at work. These so-called skeleton watches never go out of style. A wonderful example of great ingenuity are the pilot's watches from Junkers. The popular imitation of the corrugated iron of the exterior of the "Ju 42" evokes nostalgic feelings.

Watch faces are a unique blend of design and functionality. Chronographs and moon phase watches demonstrate this. You can't just tell the time for long. Stopwatches, a second time zone, and even the current moon phase can be easily read. It's not uncommon for automatic watches to display the remaining running time.

The face of the watch

The dial is the face of the watch. It transforms the timepiece into a unique piece of jewelry that perfectly suits its wearer. An incredible number of different variations are possible, which also explains why many people are no longer satisfied with just one watch. The passion for collecting watches is particularly widespread among men. The passion for different models and designs is of course not exclusively due to the dial, but it certainly plays a part. It is not only the gems we wear on our wrists that have their own face. Even the larger ones such as alarm clocks, table and wall clocks, pendulum clocks, and even tower clocks often have a distinctive, fascinating, and special dial. Hand-forged or hand-painted, these are often unique pieces that deserve special attention.

Take a few seconds while you're out and about and pay more attention to the unique watch faces. Whether in public, in shop windows, or on the internet.
